Jonah and Nikki first met in a nightclub, where they went on to misspend most of their youth in a blur of fun, music and dodgy 90’s fashion choices. That club holds a treasure trove of special memories for them and many of their guests.

So what did they decide to do? They held their wedding there!

And they even got the old DJ back to spin some tunes and a special toast with Tequila to end the ceremony! Having an Independent Civil Celebrant means nowhere is off limits (as long as it’s safe and legal) – so that sandy beach at sunset, your favourite pub, a barn on your farm, by the waterfall, deep in the forest, a marquee in your garden, a boat, plane, or why not a hot air balloon?! – it’s all possible!

Sylvia’s much-loved elderly “Nonna” lives in Italy, and health issues prevented her from travelling to Sylvia and Jeff’s wedding ceremony. So we arranged for Nonna and some other relatives to participate in the ceremony on the day, via Zoom.

As there were a small number of guests in attendance, we had the flexibility to take our time, so parts of the ceremony could be translated into Italian for Nonna. This worked out great for all involved, as after Nonna’s beautiful, heart-warming rendition of her favourite hymn ‘Ava Maria’ there wasn’t a dry eye left in the room!

Having a Civil Celebrant means you can be totally flexible with your ceremony, and include the people (or dogs, cats or owls) who mean the world to you, no matter where they may be.

Jane and Mark come from different cultural and religious backgrounds, and feared if they had their wedding in a particular church, the other person, and their family, might feel side-lined.

So we sat down and created a totally bespoke ceremony, incorporating readings, hymns and symbols from both of their backgrounds and cultures. If you’re a couple who has different backgrounds/heritage and perhaps religious sensitivities, a Civil Celebrant, like me, can be a great option, because you can design your ceremony to include a mix of any religion, cultural, multi-linguistic or symbolism you like!

Owen and Fran wanted to get married at their Hotel Wedding Reception venue, but they didn’t just want an off-the-shelf ceremony.

They wanted to start kick off their day with a humorous, unique and personal ceremony which included lots of hilarious references to how they met and how they fell in love. Their guests loved it, and it just set the tone for the rest of the day.
